Gaffing

GAFFING.

Truly one of the most satisfying and challenging aspects of her practice, Annette spends a large amount of her time working as a Gaffer for other artists and designers. Gaffing is the process of engaging a glassblower to translate a design/creative vision into blown glass. For Annette it is often a challenging technical exercise and a chance to draw from and expand her varied skill-set. Having developed working relationships many local and international artists/designers over the years, her contribution to the finished work varies from piece to piece. Often she produces blanks for accomplished glass artists to transform with their various specialised techniques, while other times she completes the work from start to finish under instruction from the artist. However large or small her contribution, Annette is particularly proud to be involved with the creation of these works.
